Architecture that catches the eye
The lead architect for the Kiikri 2 building is Illimar Truverk, a member of the Association of Estonian Architects and partner in the Arhitekt11 OÜ bureau.
The distinguished architect and his architectural office have many outstanding achievements to their name. The most significant examples of his creative work include the new and noteworthy Viimsi secondary school, the innovative and recently opened Estonian National Archives building and the impressive library at the Tallinn University of Technology.
And a large number of new apartment buildings and other projects have finished by this team of architects.
Truverk’s activities have extended to foreign countries. He and his team designed the Estonian pavilion at the Shanghai EXPO held in the People's Republic of China in 2010, which garnered both media attention and praise.
A superb team and well-conceived concept
The concept for the Kiikri 2 was developed in the course of an architectural competition in which it achieved first place. The authors of the concept are Illimar Truverk, Jaan Port, Neeme Tiimus, Katrin Kaevats, Markus Nimik and Anna Nikland, and the project architect was Kristjan Lind.
The surrounding greenery and landscape design was created by landscape architect Kadi Nigul.
The interior solutions were designed by Kaur Käärma, whose previous jobs include being co-designer of the Estonian Embassy in London, the design of the new Tele2 salons and design solutions for many offices.
